Tom Petty verstorben – Offizielles Statement der Familie

Tom Petty schlief circa 8:40 PST friedlich ein umgeben von seiner Familie und den Bandmitgliedern um sich. Der Sänger wurde kurz davor in das UCLA Santa Monica Hospital gebracht als er in seinem Haus in Kalifornien gefunden wurde, wo er unter gesundheitlichen Problemen litt. Schon im Haus war der Sänger bewusstlos und atmete nicht.

Das offizielle Statement der Familie von Tom Petty liest sich wie folgt:

„On behalf of the Tom Petty family, we are devastated to announce the untimely death of our father, husband, brother, lead and friend, Tom Petty.

He suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours this morning and was taken to UCLA Medical Center but could not bee revived. He died peacefully at 8:40 PST surrounded by family, his bandmates, and friends.
