In diesem Newsflash geht es um folgende Bands: Eskimo Callboy, Nasty, Crippled Black Phoenix, Corvus Corax und Napalm Death.

+++ Für das Vinyl-Release der kommenden EP MMXX sowie einem Re-Release des selbstbetitelten Debüts sind Eskimo Callboy zurück bei Redfield Records. Der Rest, so scheint mir und so habe ich verstanden, erscheint bei Century Media. Das Vinyl ist limitiert und gibt es hier.

Außerdem erscheint noch Hate/Love aus der kommenden EP. Die zweite Auskopplung nach Hypa Hypa.

Die Band kommentiert: “’Hate/Love’ is one of the first songs that we have written during the Corona lockdown, so you can find a lot of emotions in it. ‘Hypa Hypa’ is a feel good song while ‘Hate/Love’ shows the complete opposite. It‘s rough and brutal – but also very melodic.”

Die Band kommentiert: “After all of our video plans were crushed by the pandemic we managed to get this vid done with the help of friends and supporters. Getting through tough times and struggles educates and makes you stronger. Reaching for the ultimate version of yourself.”

+++ Crippled Black Phoenix kündigen für den 9. Oktober 2020 ihr neues Album Ellengæst an.

Mastermind Justin Greaves kommentiert die verschiedenen Kollaborationen wie folgt: „It’s been such a pleasure to work with some very fine friends on this album, lending their amazing vocal talents to give life to some music. It was important to us to do something meaningful, only inviting friends who we or I have connection with.“

+++ Corvus Corax werden weiter einmal im Monat eigene Konzerte veranstalten bis der ganze Irrsinn vorbei und / oder es eben möglich ist. Die nächsten Termine sind daher  auf der Lübarser Hofkultur am 08. und 09. August. Auf dem wunderschönen 600 qm großen Hof plus 600 qm Eingangsbereich im Dorfkern von Berlin Alt Lübars betreibt die Band seit einem Jahr Studio und Büro.

Corvus Corax: „Trotz der Corona Krise wollen wir uns die Laune nicht vermiesen zu lassen und veranstalten selbst seit einiger Zeit regelmässig an einem Wochenende im Monat Konzerte.
Samstags um 18.00 Uhr, Sonntags um 16.00 Uhr.
Zu jeder Veranstaltung können maximal 100 Gäste zugelassen werden die mit genügend Abstand voneinander auf Bänken Platz haben. Wir bieten Getränke an. Toiletten sind vor Ort. Der Eintritt ist ab 1 Stunde vorher möglich. Eine Bushaltestelle ist fast vor der Haustür.
Der wunderschöne Platz kann auch von anderen Künstlern genutzt werden, deshalb haben wir die Lübarser Hofkultur gegründet.
Wir haben bisher zusammen mit einem Partner, einem befreundeteten Musiker, ein weitreichendes Angebot für den Sommer zusammengestell, was weit über das Genre Mittelaltermusik hinausgeht:

Auch bei einem ausverkauften Konzert ist genügend Platz für alle, der Sicherheitsabstand kann gewahrt werden.

+++ Auch von der Grindcore-Pionieren Napalm Death gibt es neues auf die Ohren. Die erste Single heißt Backlash Just Because und kommt mit einem Lyric-Video daher. Das Stück ist vom kommenden Album Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism, welches am 18. September 2020 via Century Media erscheint.

Sänger Mark ‘Barney’ Greenway kommentiert den Track wie folgt: “This song in particular really spurred me on when I was writing lyrics for the album overall. It’s raucous and traditional, but also quirky and discordant and ultimately catchy-as-anything in the context of rampaging noise. Lyrically it was directed at the spiteful art of creating easy targets and fomenting paranoia and revulsion, which is something that I feel has become de rigeur in very recent times. I really let loose on the more sporadic vocals at the end of the song – it’s a real barkfest at that point. Lovely.”
