Atreyu kündigen “The Hope Of A Spark”-EP an

Für den 21. April 2023 haben Atreyu ihre neue EP “The Hope Of A Spark” für eine Veröffentlichung via Spinefarm Records angekündigt. Die Band teilt dazu auch einen neuen Song namens “Watch Me Burn” samt einem Video.

“To, me it’s a song about being cleansed by fire,” sagt Bassist Marc ‚Porter‘ McKnight. “Whatever it is that’s bringing you down and holding you back, burn it down. Use it, learn from it, move on, and grow. That thing does not deserve you and you don’t deserve it.”

“It’s very relatable to all of us individually, but it’s also incredibly pertinent to the journey of this band,” fügt Frontmann Brandon Saller hinzu.

Auf der EP gibt ees vier neue Tracks. Produziert von John Feldmann.

Saller weiter: “The overarching concept is essentially about the seasons of life. Everyone goes through the same things, the ups, and downs of life. The emphasis really is the importance of at least respecting those, and finding the positives and the lessons from even your lowest moments.”

Der Opening Track “Drowning” wurde schon veröffentlicht und als Kollektiv geschrrieben. Von jedem Bandmitglied flossen Erfahrungen ein. Sei es Sallers erste Anzeichen von Angst, familiäre gesundheitliche Probleme, Depressionen et cetera. Der zweite Track “God Devil” besingt Verlust von Identität, seinem Selbst und dem Glauben. Ein verzweifelter Schrei nach einer höheren Macht, wenngleich die größte Kraft in uns Selbst steckt. “Capital F” wurde von der humanen Misere in Sallers Community inspiriert.

“We draw strength from each other and give each other the space and support to be the best, most creative person we can be,” erklärt Jacobs. “And together, right now, that makes us the best band we’ve ever been.”
